Experiencing a fair during a pandemic – Ein virtueller Besuch der Hannover Messe
Ein Artikel von Finja Oester-Barkey (IB_20)
The Hanover fair is one of the world’s largest trade fairs. It is normally held at the Hanover Fairground in Hanover, Germany.
This year there were 1,780 exhibitors, less than a third of the ordinary volume, but what is ordinary at this time?
The whole event was online, via an internet page, and the visitors could watch various livestreams and look up every product and exhibitor they want to see or to know more about.
Most of the contributions were about the Industry 4.0 strategy which is in general about the intelligent networking of machines and processes in industry with the help of communication technology, for example the guests were able to watch a livestream from Estonia about Industry 4.0 which in itself is a perfect example of how intelligent networking benefits us.
It was a great way to learn more about the subject and stay up to date with the continuous advancement of technology. Next year let´s hope we can visit in person and enjoy the fair with everything it has to offer!
